BUCOY Coat of Arms
The surname is mainly found in Normandy, Northern France. Bucoy (Dubucq, Dubuque and Dubuquoy) listed amongst the nobility of Reitshop’s General Armory and French Aristocracy.
The family's ancestral residential properties in Zamboanga City are located in JD Cruz (Crispin Atilano Street) and Calle San Jose in Barrio San Jose, where several branches of the family still retain their main residences.
Here is the description of the Escudo (Coat of Arms) of the Bucoy Family used by the progenitors of the present day Zamboanga Bucoy based from old family archives.
White signifies peace and sincerity, blue denotes loyalty and truth. The bent symbolizes the shoulder belt of the armament worn about shoulder and arm and signifies defense and protection.

Excerpt from Zambonga Times
After almost a decade, the BUCOY Clan has finally set a special date for their 2nd BUCOY Grand Reunion on October 30, 2010 at the Immaculate Concepcion Elementary School (ICES) Ground near Jumbo Bridge in Tetuan, this city, as the venue.
The affair is not just a simple get together of the BUCOY Clan but is also focused on significant activities centered on its theme: “ Celebrating our Heritage: Renewing lost contacts, cultivating new ones to reconnect the ties that bind.”
For the Zamboanga gathering, attendees are expected to reach a thousand adults including children and balikbayan family member who eagerly signified their commitment to be home for the big event in time for the Fiesta Pilar Celebration. It is noteworthy mentioning also that a number of the BUCOY Clan throughout the country, to include those based overseas were in close contact and established correspondence through Face Books “ WE ARE UNIQUELY BUCOY” account and the family’s official website at www.me-thing.blogspot.com.
The organizing committee is geared up for the global challenge of connecting two events in one special celebration via teleconferencing for the members of the clan to have the chance to view the on goings of the family event on the big screen to be set up for the purpose, as a simultaneous reunion party will be held in Los Angeles (LA) organized by NORIEL BUCOY for those who cannot make it on the said date.
To set things in proper perspectives the BUCOY clan elected their Family Reunion Officers. Over-All Chairman – Mr. ROBERTO S. BUCOY, Vice Chairman – Mr. RAUL RAMON “POCH” A. BUCOY, Secretary – Ms EMILY BUCOY-DE LOS REYES, Treasurer – Mr. ERWIN E. BERNARDO, P.I. O. – Ms MELANIE GUAZON, Board – Judge DANILO M. BUCOY, DR. ROLANDO BUCOY, Ms. IDA REBECCA B. EUSTAQUIO, Atty. NICOLAS L. APOLINARIO, JR., Atty. SUSAN DE LOS REYES and Mr. LANCE ROMEL DELMO BUCOY.
Weekly meetings are held to ensure the success of the celebration and working committees were assigned to other members of the clan from various areas for their specific tasks:
A rundown of the program of the Activities during the October 30 Reunion are as follows: 6:00 AM -9:00 AM Registration/Breakfast; 9:00AM Eucharistic Celebration and Thanksgiving Mass to be officiated by Most Rev. ROMULO G. VALLES, 10:00 AM Opening Program, 12:00 Lunch, 1:00 – 5:00 PM Games/Talent Shows, 6:00 – 7:00 PM Dinner and 7:00-10:00 Socialization/Family Concert.
A Memorabilia/Souvenir Display Booth will be put up where family tokens such as T-Shirts, mugs, trinkets and many other memento items will be up for display/for sale at cost.
An open invitation is highly reiterated to all members of the BUCOY Clan and a most hearty welcome awaits everyone because your presence will surely contribute in no small measure to the success and in putting significance to our theme: ‘Celebrating our Heritage”, because… WE ARE Uniquely BUCOYS!
There will be a final meeting on October 14, 2010 at 6:00 in the evening at the DIAMOND ROOM of GRAND ASTORIA HOTEL at Mayor Jaldon Street, Zamboanga City.
This announcement was facilitated by JUN CADIZ , a BUCOY relative.
